I’m a mixed media textile artist living in Cornwall
I love to create pieces of textile art using a variety of found and recycled materials mixed with fabrics that I manipulate with heat to create interesting textures to which I add free motion machine stitching, hand stitching and embellishment with beads, buttons, flotsam and jetsam which I love to gather from the St. Ives beaches
A lot of my work is inspired by my home town of St. Ives such as the harbour, rust and peeling paint on the fishing boats, the working pier, the shops, cafes, galleries, the steep little cobbled streets and the Alfred Wallis style white washed cottages with lichen covered rooftops …
I adore the beautiful lichen covered rooftops of St. Ives in Cornwall
the restful colours of the sea and the ocean
shells, seaweed, sea glass, fishing net, driftwood and other treasures that I find in rock pools and on the white sand beaches of St. Ives
